Love to touch and heal the soul

Flowing in Rhythm with the New

3/4/2017

Originally written 03/11/2014

Spring and the equinox (March 20) is on its way! This has been the coldest winter I can remember and it coincided with BIG energy shifts coming in and really prompted (forced) us all to go deep within ourselves. That’s the rhythm of the season, as we see it every year in nature, and the purpose of the energy NOW.

It’s a beautiful time, especially if you are able to be in gratitude for lessons, experiences and awareness, as uncomfortable and (sometimes) messy as they may feel. The layers keep coming off, they are getting deeper and deeper and much more personal. We have a choice how we experience life and participate in it. BE calm, BE gentle, BE grateful, BE Love.

You may find you are more aware of your focus on the past, where you feel stuck or scattered, where you are/have been giving away your power, your difficulty trusting (yourself, your intuition, the Divine), imbalances in relationships, fear of the future, fear of expressing your True self, and/or fear of the unknown. Do your best to observe how you (and others) are reacting to what is showing up and avoid judgment. You are being presented with an opportunity to be aware of something about YOU and let it go, stop it, change it, heal it. Being a detached observer, avoiding fear and noticing what you are feeling and/or where it takes you can be quite freeing (for everyone). Stay centered, try to give it space and watch.

“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.”

Have you noticed the repeating patterns in relationships, jobs, behaviors, etc. showing up for review? I am unable to count how many conversations (and revelations) are coming up and around repetition. One of the most common ways I have been seeing is familial and generational patterns and behaviors showing up. It’s been quite fascinating seeing parents and children displaying and repeating similar patterns, yet each with their own “flair”. Even more beautiful is witnessing these families taking steps to change and transform the old energy as they become aware and do it in a gentle and loving way. YES!

The energy is “squeezing” us to get the deeper bits out. We ALL are experiencing change at various levels and within each change we are presented with opportunities and choices to hang on or let go. Changes and/or amplified awareness of old, outdated patterns are happening and showing up and for many the feel big, especially relating to jobs, relationships (mostly family), living situations, health issues, and loved ones passing. These changes are promptings from our Soul/Spirit and from the Divine to dismantle the old, clear the distractions and limitations, and get us on track with our individual Divine purpose and we have a choice to let go of the old and focus on the NEW.

“Once you’ve had enough and you can’t do it anymore, you consider the possibility that there
might be a better way. That’s when your head cracks open and God comes in.”
~ Marianne Williamson

Caroline Myss talks about the importance of listening to Divine guidance. We live in a “noisy” and distracting world and it can be difficult to quiet, calm and center ourselves. When the exterior world is louder than the inner promptings of God, our angels will often assist in clearing or amplifying the distractions to get us to pay attention and offer us the opportunity to make different choices. These are often “blessings in disguise”, however, we may not always be able to recognise it in the moment. Life changing moments can often bring us to our knees and often that’s an appropriate place to be. The moment we are on our knees offers us the realization that we have choices and options, as well as the opportunities to do things differently, take a different path, move in a different direction…a moment of change. This also may be the moment we learn to ask for help, support and guidance…we open ourselves to others, to God, to the Divine, to prayer…and we start to listen.

Taking time to listen and go in deep allows the transformation process to take place…pull the weeds to prepare for new growth. Have you ever organized or rearranged a room or better yet, moved? We usually start with imaging what our space will look like when we finish, then we go in, room-by-room, find the junk or forgotten treasures we stored away or hid in corners, boxes, drawers, etc., pull it out, inspect each item, reminisce, and then decide what we keep and what’s gotta go. It can be a tedious process and sometimes we accomplish more when we have someone present to support us in taking each item out, looking at it, weighing the pros & cons of keeping it, finding a new location for it or moving it out completely, then bringing something new in to take its place. Afterwards, we see and feel the transformation. We have more room to breathe, everything looks and feels more organized, we feel lighter… this is when the blossom appears. We are in the midst of a bountiful, blossoming season…in nature and in ourselves.

I also remember hearing Caroline Myss once say, “When you are creating something, you must go into the desert until you meet the energy of what you are creating.” I have found this to be true on many occasions in my life and on my journey discovering and creating ME. As many times as I wanted to sit down and share with you the many things I/we have been seeing, feeling, hearing, and experiencing lately, it just wouldn’t come together. Trying to create or make something happen before its time just creates turmoil, chaos and frustration. I learned to pay attention to when I am getting ahead of myself and the energy. When I recognize what is happening, I leave things alone, do something else, and wait for “the moment” to appear…then take action. (The action part is key!) I realised what was actually happening: I was preparing for my “meet-up” with the words, the message, the energy of this moment, right now.

Hang in there folks, that moment you are waiting (and preparing) for is coming!

    Kara Hicks,
    My Sanity Girl Musings:

When I was a child, I enjoyed writing. I wrote often and even carried a notebook around everywhere I went jotting down stories (mostly about who/what was around me) whenever I had a moment. There were times I dreamed of being a writer, maybe author a book one day. Somewhere along the way writing became a chore…writer’s block for more years than I want to count.

In December 2012, something very profound and powerful happened that tapped me into writing again. On December 12, 2012, I supported my furry friend and companion, Mimsy, during her transition. I immersed myself in the experience and did my best to BE present for every moment.

On the day of her transition, and the days that followed, I wrote. I wrote more and deeply than ever before and shared it via email. She was my inspiration and muse and helped me tap into that place that was about teaching and empowering others.

After that, a few people asked me when I was going to start blogging. My internal dialogue kept saying, “No, no, no, I’m not gonna do it!” As it turns out, I was doing just that, it just wasn’t in the formal blogging sense.

On December 12, 2013, I finally was willing to say, “Yes!” and give it a try, put myself “out there”, and follow the energy through writing.

My journey and writing took me to a deeper place than I anticipated and became a more private experience a I explored a deeper purpose and meaning to writing. A few years later, I was guided to review what I had written and found that what I previously wrote was applying to what was happening right now! It was beautiful to see that the messages were offering a long term, “big picture” perspective and were applicable to various times or situations…they didn’t have an “expiration date”.

I AM Grateful and appreciative for all those who encouraged, supported and prompted me and for your willingness in allowing me to share, teach and empower…to each of you I say, “THANK YOU!”

In dedication and gratitude to Mimsy, and her inspiration leading me to write again, the messages and emails created and shared after her transition lead the way.
    Thank you Mimsy!
